■ Business Model - Business description Surface treatment (plating, polishing, coating, etc.) and other plastic processing. Borrowings from financial institutions are about ¥20 million, and the remaining borrowings are loans from officers. Sales have trended upward in recent years, but this is temporary; going forward, there is a possibility that automotive coating will diminish and parts will be fitted to vehicles without being coated, so the company's future order outlook is expected to become severe. Also, since there is no sales staff, no new-business development is carried out. - Product and service characteristics We mainly perform coating of plastics and resins for Toyota-affiliated automotive parts. We can also coat plastics and resins for motorcycle parts, electrical appliances, pachinko parts, golf equipment, and fishing gear. However, this is limited to items that can be done by hand-spray coating. We have strong hand-spray coating skills. - Customer and client characteristics There are 3 clients, and due to the move toward coating-less automotive parts, there is a high risk that orders from the main client will decrease significantly going forward. (At present, last-minute demand has substantially boosted sales and profit.) We are currently working to develop new clients, but the representative has no sales experience and finds it difficult to develop new clients, so we seek an M&A with a company that can do sales or that can place orders with us. - Employee and organizational characteristics There are 9+ employees, but 1 is a full-time employee (a relative) and the rest are part-time foreign workers, most in their 40s to 50s. The relative and the employees wish to remain employed. - Strengths and appeal points At present the company is in a state of asset surplus and is profitable (although it may fall into the red going forward due to the move toward coating-less parts). The representative wishes to remain employed as a plant manager or in a similar role, so a period for technical succession can be secured. If new work can be secured through the acquiring company's business or sales, the company can become self-sustaining. Because the employees, including part-timers, have worked at the company for over 10 years, their hand-spray coating skills are high. Coating of items other than automotive parts is also possible as long as the size can be handled by hand-spray coating.
